Weather Cast now available!

Cover Networks constantly evaluates its programming to make sure it’s meeting the ever-changing needs of our subscribers. Recently, we’ve heard from a lot of customers who have told us that when it comes to their weather programming they want more weather without the waiting.

When you take a look at The Weather Channel’s programming, it’s clear it has gotten away from its roots, showing more movies and entertainment programming…and a lot less real-time weather coverage.

In addition, The Weather Channel was built for traditional cable companies. What that means is that The Weather Channel actually has computers installed at cable head-ends that deliver local weather “on the 8’s” to cable customers. The problem is that same technology cannot be applied to satellite TV.

Considering these issues, and the fact that much of The Weather Channel’s content is readily available for FREE online or through mobile apps, we simply could not justify their unreasonable demands.

However, we felt that this contract expiration presented an ideal opportunity to respond to feedback from customers who have been asking for better weather programming. And that’s where The Weather Cast comes in.

Cover Networks is proud to be the first and only TV provider to offer a national channel that devotes 100 percent of its program schedule to weather reporting. The Weather Cast replaces The Weather Channel on channel 214, and lets your customers get their forecast without wading through hours of “weather-tainment.”

And because its program schedule is all weather, that means The Weather Cast has more time to focus on local weather. In fact, The Weather Cast’s national interactive data service offers more information for thousands more zip codes than The Weather Channel, and automatically knows your location to deliver the latest local weather coverage.

We welcome any feedback you have about The Weather Cast programming.
